Meet The Manager
My name is Elizabeth Cummings, and I joined Kids Around the Clock in January 2012. I started my career as a level 2 qualified childcare assistant, and began my Level 3 Apprenticeship in Children’s Workforce with Kids Around the Clock which I completed in 2014. After a few months of completing my level 3 qualification, I was promoted to room leader, and from there I applied to become deputy manager which was quite an exciting time.
In 2014, I started a Foundation Degree in Early Years Childhood Studies, and after lots of hard work and determination I was promoted to Assistant Manager at Woodhouse Park in 2015. In June 2016, I took over as Manager of Woodhouse Park and gained lots of experience working alongside the Managing Director. In 2016, we secured the tender for our Brookfield Gardens site, and I moved to manage this branch of KATC. From there, I have completed my Foundation Degree (a level 5 qualification), which makes me a trained designated person for safeguarding. I have received training for working with children with additional needs and disabilities, including specific training about Hearing impairments.
Within my five years of employment at Kids Around the Clock, I have trained in a variety of subjects, from Dental Hygiene to Behaviour management. I have attended conferences such as the Ofsted Big Conversation, Using Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) and network events across the north west.
I have enjoyed managing local nurseries near me, and I have a passion for delivering the highest quality of care for all my children, Parents/carers and staff members. I have enjoyed learning about the business side of management and I am hoping to pursue my career in Business Management at Degree level with the view to move onto business development in the future.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, I have a daughter who is about to start high school, Books are a favourite pass time for me, I like to read a variety of genres however fantasy novels are my favourite like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, I enjoy drawing and I am very creative, I love to sing (even if I make it rain). I have recently found a love (need) for exercise and I try and do this at least 4 times a week to keep myself healthy and stress free. I enjoy travelling and seeing new places, I try and visit somewhere new at least once a month even if it is a walk somewhere I have never been before, the feeling of exploring somewhere new is exciting and my daughter enjoys this to, my favourite place to visit up to now is Wales by the sea, I find the beach so calming and gentle, my favourite place to relax is definitely by the water.
At KATC we are passionate about healthy living. Our food is prepared daily by our experienced Chef using locally sourced produce to provide a high quality, diverse and exciting menu, that caters for your growing child’s needs, to ensure a healthy and nutritious diet.
